Nurture Ministries

As some of our members are not able to attend regular worship services and/or programs, the Visitation Ministry is committed to helping our homebound members stay connected. Volunteers agree to visit their assigned member(s) at least once a month. Some go the extra mile, sending post cards while on vacation and notes from home. Contact the church office for more information.

At First United Methodist Church, we understand that death is painful for grieving families. That is why we support those who mourn. When one of our members passes away, the Martha Ministry provides a meal to the family at no charge. Donations, however, are gladly accepted.

THE MARTHA MINISTRY’S MISSION: The mission of the Martha Ministry is to provide support for the family at the death of a member of the church or a United Methodist Minister associated with FUMC. A Martha Ministry team will prepare a meal and deliver it to the church, home, or to the funeral home.

JOINING THE MARTHA MINISTRY: The Martha Ministry is comprised of six teams. Each team has between 14-16 members and is called on to serve about twice a year. If you are interested in joining the Martha Ministry, please contact the church office.
