Young Adult Ministries
COLLEGE AGE
Our college ministry is composed of students from local schools and universities across America. Each week, we offer a college Sunday School Class called BreakthrU in room 216. Our college ministry really comes alive during summers and breaks. During these seasons, we offer mission trips, conferences, and opportunities for fellowship. For more information about this growing ministry, contact Daryn Chavis at dchavis@fumcm.org.
EARLY CAREER
If you are just starting your career or family, join the Foundations class in the Library. Foundations offers open discussions and Bible study about issues that young adults run across while starting their adult lives on a solid foundation. This active group meets regularly for meals, service projects, games, and fellowship. For more information contact Andrew Rieben at andrew.rieben@gmail.com.
COLLEGE/YOUNG PROFESSIONALS MENTOR MINISTRY
Please download and print this application and complete it if you are an adult member of FUMC and are interested in being a mentor for our students who have just recently graduated from High School. The Mentor will stay in contact with the young adult as they transition into their new life after High School. The mentor will be encouraged to pray for their mentee, send them letters/emails, and be their home church contact person.
After completing the application and leaving it with the church office, you will be invited to an orientation meeting in April or May. If you are placed with a student, you will be given their contact information and can begin communication with them before they leave for college or begin their career. This ministry is sponsored by the Attitudes of Faith Sunday School class. Please call the church office for specific contact information with one of these class members.
