HINDS FEET ON HIGH PLACES
WOMEN’S RETREAT REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN!!!!
"He makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me upon my high places..."

Our annual Women's Retreat will be taking place on September 24th- 25th at the beautiful Lakeside Resort in Smithville, Tennessee! Registration will be at 10:45 am in both the Fellowship Hall and the Narthex. This year our retreat will be based upon the Christian classic, Hinds Feet On High Places by Hanna Hurnard and will be a weekend built around the principles of renewal, restoration, and becoming who you were meant to be in Christ's eyes. The cost for the weekend will be $100 and we will be offering a payment plan for those that need it. We will also have the books available for $8 at the registration tables as a "summer reading" assignment in preparation for the retreat. If you have any questions or are willing to help prepare for the weekend, please contact Aimie Markham at 848- 7163 or aimieboo@bellsouth.net.

Friday, September 9: Ladies' Friday Morning Bible Study We welcome all women to the Fall Session of Friday Morning Bible Study beginning Sept. 9th! This term we will be doing Beth Moore’s study on the book of Daniel. Every time we offer this study, we hear testimonies of lives changed and we want everyone who can to be a part of this intriguing study. Study books can be purchased at Lifeway for approximately $15. Class will meet from 9:30-11:30 am in room 218 for 12 weeks.
Nursery is provided free of charge but we do ask that anyone who needs childcare register so we can have the right number of staff available. For nursery, questions or concerns, please contact Charlotte Lynn at bclynn@mindspring.com or 907-5090. We’re looking forward to a great fall!

Mother's Day Out

Mom to Mom

This diverse group of mothers is focused on creating a supportive, Christian community to learn and grow together. Our new study is titled, “Caring and Community; Perspectives from Ephesians.” Nursery is available, but I ask that you let us know if you intend to use the nursery so that it can be fully staffed. If you have any questions, please contact Allison Brown at either allibteacher@comcast.net or 615-335-1542. Our book states, “One cannot be a Christian alone! Our Lord Jesus Christ has called and chosen us for a special relationship with God and others in community.”

FUMC Martha Ministry

At First United Methodist Church, we understand that death is painful for grieving families. That is why we support those who morn. When one of our members passes away, the Martha Ministry provides a meal to the family at no charge. Donations, however, are gladly accepted.

THE MARTHA MINISTRY'S MISSION: The mission of the Martha Ministry is to provide support for the family at the death of a member of the church or a United Methodist Minister associated with FUMC. A Martha Ministry team will prepare a meal and deliver it to the church, home, or to the funeral home.

JOINING THE MARTHA MINISTRY: The Martha Ministry is comprised of six teams. Each team has between 14-16 members and is called on to serve about twice a year. If you are interested in joining the Martha Ministry, please contact the church office at 893-1322.
