A pastor and author, J. Sidlow Baxter once said the The Book of Psalms "is the poetry of downright reality."  It's true.  The Psalms speak the language of the soul.  This year, our Lenten journey takes us through the Book of Psalms.  Our pilgrimage will feature a sermon series and an online devotional guide. We have a variety of ways you can be involved.  Here are a few:

ASH WEDNESDAY: Our Lenten pilgrimage begins on Ash Wednesday with a special service in the sanctuary on Wednesday, February 22nd, at 6:30 pm


WALK TO JERUSALEM: Last year, our church logged the round trip mileage between Murfreesboro and Jerusalem.  This year, the Health and Wellness Ministry is sponsoring the walk again.  Simply exercise during the week and report it each Sunday at the welcome desk or online.  Log your miles here.

LENTEN PRAYER: Lent is a time of reflection, confession, and prayer. Starting Ash Wednesday, Room 115 will be open as a quiet place for prayer during the church’s regular office hours. If you are not able to come to the church to pray, we invite you to submit an online prayer request.

LENTEN STUDY: Bread and Wine: Readings for Lent and Easter by various authors (C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, Phillip Yancey, Henri Nouwen, and many others).  Join us for six weeks of study beginning Wednesday, February 29th, 4:30-5:30 pm in room 112.  Books will be available for $12.00 at the Welcome Center.  Daily readings commence on Ash Wednesday; class begins the following Wednesday.  Rev. Seyler is the facilitator.
