We are proud of our Nursery and the loving staff we have here at FUMC. We strive to help families by providing a safe, loving environment for the youngest members of our congregation. The following policies are implemented ensure the safety and happiness of your child.
The Nursery is provided for church functions only. Babies are admitted to the Nursery at the age the parent or
guardian feels appropriate. During worship, nursery is provided for children ages birth until your child’s 4th birthday. At the age of 4 children are invited to Children’s Church until the end of 1st grade.Nursery is provided for children ages birth to 2 years during the Sunday School hour at 9:45. Children ages 3 and older attend Sunday School class during the 9:45 hour. It is the parents’ responsibility to pickup and drop-off children to and from the Nursery and Sunday School. The only disciplinary action taken in theNursery is Time Out. Children who have become extremely upset will be returned to parents for reassurance and guidance.
The FUMC Nursery has adopted the following policies as a stepping-stone toward our goal of ministering
to the children, both spiritually and physically.
1. Please do not bring your child into the nursery if he or she exhibits any of the following symptoms:
- Fever (any temperature above 99.9 degrees)
- Vomiting, diarrhea, or any major physical discomfort during the past 24 hours.
- Coughing, sneezing, or discharge from the eyes or ears.
- Cloudy or thick runny nose
- Rash associated with viral or bacterial infection -
- Cold or sore throat
- Contagious illness (i.e. chicken pox)
2. The nursery staff may not administer medicine of any kind including diaper rash ointment. Do not send
medication in a child’s cup.
3. Only adult family members should drop off and pick up children.
4. We promote children from one room to another based on the age of the child. If you feel your child needs to be promoted, please contact the Nursery Director.
5. Except for infants, every effort should be made to feed your child meals before coming to the nursery. Children should eat with the parents for family meals such as Wednesday night suppers
6. The Nursery will provide all children ages 1 year and older an allergy-free snack and drink. This is not a substitute for lunch or dinner.
7. Please bring a sufficient supply of bottles, diapers, and extra clothing, etc. For those being potty trained,
pull-ups are preferred.
8. If your child has a specific food allergy, please inform the Nursery Director.
9. Sign-in each time your child comes to the Nursery so that we may locate you.
10. Remain on-site while your child is in the Nursery.
11. No Offering is collected in the Nursery.

- Infant Until Crawling Room 110
- Crawling to Walking Room 111
- Toddler I (12-18 months) Room 108
- Toddler II (18 - 24 months) Room 106
- 2-2 1/2 year olds Room 107
- 2 1/2- 3 year olds Room 105
- 3 year olds Room 103
- 3 year old Sunday School Room 104
- Children's Church Room 109
